This Linkpipe bypasses the BMW exhaust valve.
The original R1200GS has a valve in its integral link pipe to silencer pipework, the valves main purpose is to aid the motorcycle to pass the manufacturers emission and noise levels allowing it to be freely sold in many countries, we do not test for emissions in this country so it is often removed from the motorcycle when replacing an exhaust component ,you can simply unhook the cables from their position and remove the valve a long with the stock silencer with no ill effects, we believe it is impossible to change the silencer to any aftermarket unit on this motorcycle without its removal.
